New York State District Attorneys Association Names Lawrence Iason to White Collar Crime Task Force

The District Attorneys Association of the State of New York has appointed Morvillo Abramowitz Partner Lawrence Iason as a member of its newly created New York White Collar Crime Task Force. The Task Force will be charged with examining New York's anti-fraud and anti-corruption laws, with the goal of recommending legislative and executive changes to modernize enforcement of the law and make it more effective. In announcing the Task Force and the Task Force members, the president of the District Attorneys Association of the State of New York, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance, Jr. noted, "The idea of this Task Force is to convene thoughtful people, with different specialties and perspectives, to spend several months to a year studying our anti-fraud and anti-corruption laws to determine ways they can be strengthened." The Task Force will be Co-Chaired by Manhattan Chief Assistant District Attorney Daniel Alonso and Erie County District Attorney Frank Sedita, III and includes many other prominent prosecutors, private practitioners, and academics.
